It's certainly proved to be a remarkable aircraft, let's hope the Wildcat proves to be a worthy successor..

Ripple, l suppose they call it ....progress!
All the magnificent aircraft, that l love, ie. the Avro Vulcan Bomber, the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird and the English Electric Lightning, no longer fly. Sad really!

It's a shame when the old boys go. Unfortunately they didn't fly far enough South for me to see them.
