Bad mummy lol

Grace announced loudly this morning I'm a bad mummy, apparently tooth fairy gives ten pounds to her friends and in this flat she only left £2.50

I thought about explaining brexit and austerity to her but decided on yes love I'm a bad mummy instead

When did teeth get so expensive

Re: Bad mummy lol

oooh the dreaded Tooth Fairy.......I remember eating Christmas Pudding and bit the sixpence....this loosened my tooth which came out about 4 days later.....I got 10p...all that pain and suffering for a crumby sixpence and a 10p coin.

Sorry for the drift....back to the OP....£10 for a tooth....jeeeez.

I used to get 6d, it was a long time ago.
Kids got 50p, which rose to £1 with inflation.
I'm glad I haven't got wobbly toothed kids now. £10 does seem rather excessive to me.
I would have explained the meaning of money & lack of it to my child.

Our eldest used to negotiate with her father on Jan 1st each year about the number of teeth she and her sisters had lost during the previous year and expected him to cough up for each one. I can't remember how much for each tooth. Suffice to say our kids could have got into the Guinness Book of Records for having more teeth than other human!

Ten quid each? Blimey! I wish I had kept them all in a jar and cashed them in with my parents now.

She has a lot of sense with money really for her age she understands a lot about austerity and how hard you have to work for each penny. When she's lost a tooth and waiting for the tooth fairy isn't the time for real discussions about it all IMO

I've never got one to adult hood with less than a good work ethic or a tendency to over spend either.

Jasmine was 4 and lost her tooth in my garden , we searched but couldn't find it , she was upset as she wouldn't be able to put it under her pillow . Mum brought her back to my house a week later and there hanging on the tree was a letter written by the fairies thanking her for the tooth which they were using for a chair to sit on , and a shiny pound coin was inside the letter too .

Amazing
