Check your fivers

If you have a new £5 note starting with the serial number AA01 it could be worth a bob or two.

Re: Check your fivers

I hadn't seen any of the new ones until today, I had only 20s in my purse, so I asked my husband if he had any. He had a stack of them in his wallet. Unfortunately none of them had the right serial numbers. I couldn't get over how horrible they feel though, very slippery and easily dropped I would think.

If you fold them the fold doesn't come out either, they may last longer than the old £5's but they will take up more room in your wallet.

Yes I agree too. They are a nuisance because I can't fold them anymore, and as Tiffany says, if you force a crease it doesn't come out again.

Plastic notes. Seems the £10 is going the same way too.
