Cafe etiquette

Are you one of these people who, when going into a cafe/coffee shop, find a table whilst your oh joins the queue to get the tea/coffee ect, even if its really busy?, or do you both join the queue, get served and then find a table? Do you think its right to do the former? Even if people are already in the queue , buying their food and drinks, then struggle to find somewhere to sit, because somebody has occupied a table whilst waiting for the person they are with to join them?

Re: Cafe etiquette

Due to mobility and usually having kids with us I find a table and my oh gets served on the very rare occasions we go into a cafe. We are more likely to be found outside with a flask and sandwiches

Re: Cafe etiquette

I don't know if it is the correct etiquette but I am guilty of finding an empty table and grabbing two seats whilst he who must obey goes up to the counter for our Lattes. I certainly don't mind others sharing our table but I still prefer to have the pick of the seats first if at all possible.

Re: Cafe etiquette

Hi

It is not normally an issue where I take my coffee.

The management at the Ritz normally finds one a table.

Re: Cafe etiquette

I think it makes perfect sense for the other person to find a table whilst the other is buying the tea/coffee. Otherwise you are left wandering around with a tray and looking for somewhere to sit.

We always find a table first, if there's no table we go somewhere else!
