Got a Google account?
Got an old smartphone or tab?
Have a look at Alfred.camera.
Working great so far.

For many years there have been plenty of free apps on Google Play that turn your old android mobile into a surveillance camera.

Just do a search on Google play. I guess the storage facility makes a difference but it has been long possible to monitor/view your house when you are away for no cost with minimum expertise as long as you have a static IP address.

Oops sorry for the delay. Video can be uploaded to the cloud for secure storage.

I'm using it to see what our little dog gets up to when we are out.
Only had the beast for a couple of weeks and recently found out that the previous owner wanted to get rid cos he howled when left alone. So now we know what we are dealing with and can plan a training strategy.
