Separate bedrooms

For the past ten years or more my husband and I have had our own bedrooms. I prefer my own sleeping space, I dislike being cuddled up to anyone for sleeping purposes. Just because I don't share a bedroom for sleeping doesn't mean other bedroom activities were excluded, far from it before his illness.

Do you and your spouse have separate rooms?

Re: Separate bedrooms

Only temporary!! My Wife has just had a operation on her eye and she says i am a bit of a rough sleeper and she is worried about me hitting her in the eye with my elbow, Its a bit strange but hopefully wont be for much longer.

Re: Separate bedrooms

We have our own rooms, I just share with the dogs. We also have separate living rooms.

Re: Separate bedrooms

We've always slept in the same bed, except for the occasional row when I'm dumped into the back room.

Re: Separate bedrooms

We sleep in the same room but I've often wished I had a separate room when OH's snoring starts!

I am a very restless sleeper and when I do get really bad nights when I'm unable to settle, I do go into the other bedroom so as not to disturb him.

Re: Separate bedrooms

My husband snores and I kick the duvet on and off all night long, far from finding sleeping in the same bed/room a loving experience we used to feel pretty murderous in the middle of the night!

Re: Separate bedrooms

My husband snores too, not really loudly but on and on ..... I grab all the duvet to my side. Since having Dizzy (my son's bonkers dog) to stay here I have been sleeping on the sofa with her all week and it's been bliss, slept right through the nights. When she goes back I may well make up a bed for him in the spare room.
