How often do you wash your hair?

Hi

I came across this.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38812935

Apparently not washing your hair is the in thing.

How about you?

Once or twice a week I wrote about my hair routine the other day, long thick curly hair you don't want to add water too often or you end up with a birds nest or as my husband says are you having a crystal tips moment there lol

About three times a week. If you wash it too often you lose the natural oils..

Hi

I wash mine everyday, but these people are saying it is better that you do not wash it at all.

Every day Swim, first thing I do in the morning is shower and wash my hair. Except on run days, then I shower when I get home after a run. 66 and still got a decent head of silver grey hair. Perhaps it would still have been brown if I hadn't washed all the colour out.....

I would give it a try but I don't think I could bear to get past the first few weeks while the hair adjusted itself and became self cleaning.

I'll stick with washing in baby shampoo three times a week. It does for me.

Re: How often do you wash your hair?

As l originally trained as a Ladies Hairdresser, I don't believe in washing the 'daylights' out of your hair, so l only wash mine twice a week. To freshen it up, l just wash my fringe!
I use only the best hair products by Paul Mitchell that are only available in some hairdressing salons or online.
If l wash my hair every day, it goes poor and lifeless!

Re: How often do you wash your hair?

I use a lovely lavender & rosemary shampoo roughly every 3 days or so.
Depends how I've layed on it, sometimes I wake up looking like Worzel Gummidge so wash it again.
I always use an Aloe & lavender conditioner as well.
I don't want to follow any celebrity fads thanks.

Re: How often do you wash your hair?

It depends. If I have been doing something messy or dusty then every day but if I'm not doing much then once a week is fine. My hair is cropped so doesn't take much looking after. It is true that the longer you leave it the better it is for your hair.

I remember some people took part in an experiment some years ago and didn't wash their hair for months. There was a period where their scalp became itchy and smelly but once past that, their hair just took care of itself with no need for shampoos or conditioners.

Twice a week-there isn`t that much to wash. Tigi or Paul Mitchell.
