Feeling Old.

Hi

All of a sudden, after reaching retirement age I am being bombarded with leaflets and phone calls about funeral plans. equity release, pension planning, wills etc etc.

I am fed up with it all, I have absolutely no intention of dying at anytime soon.

I can afford to pay for my own funeral, very modest it will be, I don't want any fuss.

My will is made, very simple and very clear.

My kids already have the Equity in the house and I have taken the maximum possible tax free lump sums out of my pensions.

Do these people think we all suddenly become senile as soon as we retire?

Yep, swimmy, they do think that and also think we have plenty of money to spend before we die!
Put your money under the bed and keep your mind active by counting it every night......it's better than counting sheep!
You could also do what the lottery winners do, throw a massive chunk of fifties in the air and sing...'Who wants to be a millionaire....'
Now that's not being senile, it's being enterprising and beating all those that are trying to nab your money!!

PS. You'll know you're senile when you start setting fire to the cash!

Oh heck yes. If you're involved in a car accident - even if it's only a little fender-bender - in piles the mail on a daily basis with offers from lawyers wanting to help you sue for injuries, whether you were injured or not. Some of these sneaky buggers go as far as saying, in so many words, they'll 'fudge' the reports to give you an injury you never received
