They will work closely with MI5 intelligence officers to identify terror suspects
Expert snipers trained to kill suicide bombers in crowds are also deployed
SAS anti-terror troops will mingle with Christmas shoppers and New Year's Eve revellers to counter the threat from returning ISIS fighters.
Elite troopers will operate undercover in major British cities including London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds.
They will work closely with MI5 intelligence officers to identify terror suspects, while Army bomb disposal experts will also be on hand to deal with suspicious devices.

Every trooper does 6months SPT every two years(squadron rotation)which involves the very same thing.

As 24 years army I never once heard of SAS going undercover to protect Christmas shoppers so please enlighten me more

I am not surprised at all M.
I was shocked at one of the Hereford boys disclosing undercover surveylance details on the radio recently, whatever happened to 'need to know basis' .I understand they are secreted all over the place at the moment.
