What Things Do You Do To Keep Your Brain Sharp And Active?

I read that age related brain shrinkage can be reversed if you eat properly, get more exercise, be sociable and avoid stress.
I do lots of crosswords and word games and have joined a pub quiz team to try to keep my brain active.
What do you do to keep your brain active and sharp.....or is it too far gone?!!

I try to get plenty of exercise - walking & swimming mostly but sometimes the gym.
I also play scrabble a lot online which I hope is good for the brain.

Still do lots of reading, but the net is a good thing for research, and i have hobbies though these have been severely regulated of late.

I do play games like Mahjong and Chess, i did keep involved with various clubs and groups but this may change in the coming months.

Daily quizzes/puzzles in my paper, pub quiz league, and I read as if my life depends on it. Plus proof-reading my husbands' books before they go to the publisher, that takes a heap of time!

I read somewhere Art that doing crosswords and puzzles doesnt benefit whatsoever against losing little grey cells ....but if thats what people want to do to keep themselves happy then the actual benefit could come from being happy rather than doing the actual crosswords or puzzles so we should always try to do things which make us happy and contented ,that way I feel we protect ourselves much better

Reading, general knowledge & cryptic crosswords and online scrabble with a couple of old friends from the now defunct Age Concern site.

ETA - oh, and Andoku 3 (Sudoku) on my phone.

Well Aysa, that knocks this theory on the head!
Maybe, a brain transplant might be the best option?!!
