The 1960's

What a great decade it was, I remember rock and roll, the Beatles, the Rolling stones, mini skirts, the Mini, and British motor bikes, yey ! . . . but, . . Engelbert Humperdink, Tom Jones, . . arrrgh.

British bikes, they don't make em like that any more, Triumph Bonneville, Norton Dominator, BSA - Rockets and Gold flashes, and they sounded great, not like the Japanese screaming eagles they have today.

The writing was on the wall though, towards the end of the decade Honda started making in-roads with their 250cc twin and I knew the party was over for the British bike industry.

Engelbert Humperdink definitely a no-no but I used to like watching Tom Jones I was a Beatles fan too, didn't like the Rolling Stones at all.

Don't know anything about bikes except the fact that they make a lot of noise!

Tom Jones, the only man who could wear out a pair of trousers from the inside.

It was a very unsettled period here, hippies, social unrest, riots, and other unpleasantries, but the music was GREAT!

60's for me were mini skirts, phsycadelic (sp) colours, scooters never liked motor bikes,Radio Caroline on my little tranny, going to my first Disco...Wasn't keen on the Beatles some songs were ok though....Because I was born in 53 it was late sixties before I really got into fashion and music I was much more a child of the early 70's I really did enjoy those years...
