Government backtracks on a new 'bedroom tax'

The 'nasty party's' commitment to postpone implementation of this vicious, despicable act is being held up as a victory for common sense, its nothing of the sort, since the 'nasty party' haven't cancelled it altogether, but merely postponed its implementation. There was Theresa May, following her election as 'nasty party' leader telling us she wanted a better , more friendly society. With friends like her and the rest of the 'nasty party' who needs enemies???

Hi

Don't follow your logic UJ.

In your Socialist dream, you are allocated housing according to need, no choice at all.

Such is Communism, which you support.

Re: Government backtracks on a new 'bedroom tax'

Since the state pension age is linked to Bedroom Tax, I was hoping that when I hit 65 and 7 months I might not have to downsize again if my youngest moves out.
Then I heard about these plans!
They have no idea about the impact these changes have on people!
If there were suitable properties to move into it would help.
They're stopping people with young children from upsizing because children under ten don't qualify as needing separate rooms, so no swapping is happening between them and older folk.
No common sense what so ever!

I agree they make these pronouncements with no forward thought it feels. Lady here lost her son recently but they had put her in a three bed because she needed a room and he needed one and one for his overnight carer, I might add she paid for the carer that wasn't provided by council or NHS. She's been trying to get a one bed as that's all she needs but having no luck so far. If this does come in I'm not sure how she will manage she only has a basic pension now and has spent all her savings on caring for her son in his last five years. Motor neurone really is a cruel disease
