Lovely piece of film. Thanks for sharing.

I notice the distinct lack of signs that proliferate everywhere these days, and practically non-existent road markings. Perhaps road users were more civilised in those days.

I love old film like this.
Did you notice how pedestrians just drifted across the road as if there was no traffic.

I always find this one naibiting stuff.

San Francisco 1906 .... pedestrians dicing with death.

Morti... loved that. Both the music and the trip!

Gordon Bennet, no-one looked whether it was the car drivers, the pedestrians, or the horse drawn carriages.

God bless our traffic laws

Interesting to see the little tykes running around being a pain - nothing new there.

And, what about the old guy at the end with his beard blowing in the wind, looks a bit like a garden gnome. Mr Plod at the back of him is having a good dig in his nose too

Can anyone see what written on the building at the end of the line?

Wow! super films. It looked as if traffic went any which way in the San Francisco film. How did they ever decide to have two way traffic.

This is a very interesting piece of footage.
Despite the Americans driving in the right lane many of the cars still had te steering wheels on the right side.Henry Ford only introduced the left hand drive car in 1908.

Fascinating. Thanks, Muddy.

What an eye opener. I've been thinking for all these years that everything was grey in those days: grey clothes, grey shops, grey people. So they really had colours? Wow!

Seriously, interesting how, as others have said, that there were so few people and so little traffic.

Those were the days, eh?

I wonder why they originally had right-hand drive cars if they drove on the right.
