Staples, the well known stationery and Office Supplies business is to close.

Not to mention competition from supermarkets offering cheaper office supplies.

I notice the buyer .. for a nominal fee .. was the lot who bought up HMV.
Why does 'nominal fee' sound so sinister these days.

Oh that's a shame. I'm not a great shopper in there, but do visit from time to time. But have to confess...their paper goods are too expensive for me.

I have only been into Staples a few times but have always found them very expensive so I'm not surprised they are to close.

It's getting difficult to buy from a proper shop these days. I hope nothing serious happens to the internet in the next few years or we will all be shafted!

Thank goodness for Wilko, is all I can say. And pound shops. Between them they satisfy my needs for all things stationery.

I buy from pound shops & cheap outlets like Trago Mills.
They usually have everything I want. There is a big Staples in Plymouth but I only went there once.

Only shopped there a couple of times, both times left without buying anything because I could get the same for half the price one floor down in the whsmith and even cheaper down the road in the proud shop.

I found this shop to be expensive for ordinary stationary, most of which my local supermarket could supply at a better price. Also any art supplies i found in dedicated shops, or online, so it was of its time.. But times have changed.
