Re: Grandchildren Presents

Muddy, l remember when you were buying clothes for your granddaughter, she wanted New Look and you preferred to purchase them from Next! I hope you don't have the same dilemma!
Maybe, it might be safer to give your grandchildren the money like l do, it's less of a headache!!
Sorry, l wasn't much help to you!

Ages?
Boys/girls?

I'd hate to suggest a Barbie for a 16 year old boy.

I've not been sexist.....have I?

Re: Grandchildren Presents

A lot depends o n their ages and on how much you want to spend.

How about:-

An adventure day out somewhere.
Book Tokens.
A trip to the cinema and a favourite meal.
For girls - a trip to a beauty parlour for a 'make over;
For boys - a ticket to their favourite sports event.

Gift cards or cash. They can go and buy what they would like to have. I'm too old to figure out what makes them happy.

One boy ( 10)
Two girls ( 12 and 8)

Last year I got them as part of their present an indoor sky diving experience .
Worked for two out of the three.

If they already have everything, how about just giving them some good advice?

Re: Grandchildren Presents

We've had same rule forever or at least since a Christmas in 1990 when everyone was paying off Christmas into the new year, everything has to be home made. This year I've been making pyjamas for the boys turned out really nicely if I do say so myself, Grace has a knee length knitted coat/cardigan with a matching but contrasting hat. My husband will I'm sure like his belt with pockets, designed to hold his gardening bits he's usually looking for, now it'll all be with him.

Nathan has been learning leather craft and made Steven and his brother rather nice wallets, a nice bag for Grace not sure what I'm getting.

Grace has been brewing smelly gifts, making soaps and candles.

My husband has been making rugs all year so I'm guessing we will all get a bedside rug.

If they need money I'd rather give it when they need if than spoil our Christmas with cash.
