Weird sayings

Hi

I love things like this, local phrases.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-37550178

I can remember my Gran and Aunties say " Well. I'll go to foot of our stairs" when they heard something surprising.

I loved Summer's post, when she referred to chumping, I haven't heard that in years.

Any you know?

After 1066 and all that, most if not all hamlets and villages would have some one called William, hence where ever the dark clouds were, its dark out over Will's/Bill's,not the kaiser or any one else.
