I'm really proud of my friend today

This is my friend winning medals in Australia. I'm so pleased for her, she's very dedicated.

Re: I'm really proud of my friend today

Thank you Meg and TessA. Considering that Cath had to give up her training and racing last year due to a DVT in her leg, she is doing really well again. Not bad for a 63 year old is it?

Gosh she doesn't look 63! I must take up running...
...perhaps rolling...

No need for running TessA, Cath gave up running a long time ago, knee damage, she does race walking and was for a time the European Ladies Race Walking Champion. I can organise for you to go walking with her if you like

Thank you lovemyboys. I think Cath makes all who know her feel lazy, she never stops, she used to do a 10 mile training walk every morning before she went to work (she was a teacher), she still trains 3 days a week, goes to the gym most days, enters races in many countries and still finds time to organise and put on plays and pantomimes and other events when at home in UK. Her husband is also an athlete and he too still enters many races, Pete is a runner. These days Pete doesnīt compete quite as often as Cath, he runs training classes for athletes, he never stopped either, despite going through cancer treatment 3 years ago. Both are very dedicated sports people. Next Spring they are planning on moving to their home here permanently, they are already involved with the Spanish athletics events and have been asked if they will run some training classes in the area where their Spanish home is. One thing is for sure, I canīt see either Cath or Pete slowing down, unless they are tied down that is. It wears me out just thinking about what they do

Well done to the lady! I reckon if we had lots of sunshine over here, there'd be far more people into being fit and active. Gets people motivated methinks - that's my excuse anyway
