Having a Ladybird plague here in Norfolk are any of you in other parts getting swarms of Ladybirds they are getting in the house i have been going round with the hoover they seem to love hiding in the net curtains damn things!!
I remember the Ladybird plague back in the 70's i think that was a lot worse than this one.

Haven't seen that here this year, but I remember some years ago there were hundreds & when they landed on you the seemed to bite, but were actually taking sweat from your skin.

Re: Ladybird Plague

Same here Doc , they seem to be all around the door and window frames in the kitchen. As fast as I put them outside they come back in again .
I think they may have been seeking a hibernation spot but the unseasonably warm weather is keeping them about.

Colder weather has been forecast that might send them scurrying for cover.

Re: Ladybird Plague

I haven't noticed any ladybirds here but when we went to Devon for the day earlier this week there were swarms of them around. I hate it when they fly into your face ... especially when your talking!

Re: Ladybird Plague

No sign of them in Kent yet but I remember back in the 70s. No fun at all on a caravan holiday and three little boys to amuse.

Yes we have got load of them to, also today and yesterday we have got a plague of tiny white insects flying around, I was covered in them today, at first I thought it was Ash, and I caught one of them, but they have tiny wings.

Re: Ladybird Plague

No more than usual here on the Lincs/Cambs border. But we never know. Why does the book `The Birds` come to mind?
