Gymslips

Following on from Jemflux's thread about the short trousers for boys, how many of us ladies had to wear gymslips at school?

I remember mine well ...... navy blue with a blue sash at the waist, worn with a white blouse and navy and light blue tie.

A gymslip covers the top as well as the bottom.

Did you go to an all boys school Losos?

A gymslip is a sleeveless all in one dress .....

whereas a skirt ...... is a skirt!

It's amazing what you can learn on the Over50s!

Re: Gymslips

I used to wear one at primary school , I think they look rather smart
Unlike with skirts you don't get the problem of blouses coming adrift in the middle.

Re: Gymslips

Did you have to earn house points (for good work, deeds etc) and team up with your other house members for sports day?
