Police flag down a L driver for a lift .

would you stop to give a police officer a lift to a scene of a crime ?.
Im not sure how the law stands on this , are you forced to stop and help .?
I thought it only happened in The Sweeney and other TV cop series

A learner driver must be accompanied by a qualified driver. So if the above was the case the law was being broken if neither cop had a driving licence

A learner driver in south-west London stopped to give a lift to two police officers running to an arrest.

No danger of them exceeding any 30 MPH limit in a built up area then...on foot.
Hope they didn't encourage her to break the law by speeding.

I wish they'd give me a lift, I wouldn't mind a ride in a 4.2litre V8 Audi

If in doubt I could check their details Mups they all have numbers /phones/ radios and I could ring their station myself as we are told to do if they come to our house and we are unsure about their identity.
