House prices

Just seen for sale boards go up here, so being a nosy beasom I had a look at the website and nearly fell off my chair.

A studio flat no bedroom, tiny no window bathroom and small kitchenette in the living room.

Guess the price ?

£175000 !

How on earth are first time buyers going to get on the ladder ? This is a flat in a council development not a prime spot at all.

Re: House prices

Good grief they could get our two bed house for that. Send potential buyers round to me.

Ok they might not want to live in the midlands.

Nothing wrong with the midlands Shirley we'd happily move if we could.

It depends where you live of course, but that doesn't sound expensive to me.

Re: House prices

Why ? It sounds like people may actually be able to afford a home that can't be bad can it ?

Re: House prices

But what sort of neighbourhood would it be if the properties are dirt cheap?

Actually quite respectable, although my reply was tongue in cheek the truth is that you can still buy a very nice 2/3 bedroom terrace house nearby for around £80k. Many of the houses in this ex mining village were built for the workforce at the local mines (long since gone), but the present owners have as much pride and self respect as in any other community, perhaps more than some. ..
