Parking ticket flutter.

Since most parking tickets are no longer adhesive , thousands of motorists are being fined for not displaying a ticket on the dashboard, resulting from the slightest breeze blowing them off.
This is made worse by the fact that there seems total confusion over the legal position of the driver if contesting any fine when producing proof of a valid ticket purchased for the period.

So guess my question is, if car manufactures can fill cars with endless extras which beg belief, why can't they fit cars with a simple little clip/holder to secure a parking ticket?

Re: Parking ticket flutter.

Coincidentally, I have just been watching (a recording of) a programme about parking fines.

One young lady contested a fine imposed on her. She had paid for a parking ticket and displayed it in her windscreen, as required. Unfortunately, it had fallen down on to the seat and, of course, the car park attendant had issued a ticket for failure to display.

Now, having witnessed very many selfish drivers parking where they shouldn't and causing an obstruction, I am usually in favour of parking attendants issuing fines.

However, on this occasion (and others like it) I feel that the fine should have been waived, especially as the 'offender' had the ticket (with date and time, of course) as proof that she had paid to park there.

I'm afraid that her appeal was rejected on 'bureaucratic grounds'. In other words, whilst the appeal official agreed with her she was 'bound by the rules' to refuse her appeal.

Rules should be changed where they favour bureaucracy rather than practicality.

Why not now use the redundant tax disc holder?

Blue tack, clear plastic DVD holder, or as suggested above.

I don't think this is right but I suspect that, as the driver has been requested to display the ticket, it is their responsibility to make sure it is securely fastened, so easily seen.
I can't see car manufacturers making this addition to their cars, but I think Duke is on to something. Why don't all you men create something that would secure the ticket because it wouldn't cost much and any driver, who has to park their car where tickets are issued, would be happy to but one.
You could even take to to Dragons Den and sell them interenationally.

We are not talking about tickets for not paying the fee, we are talking about tickets, from a machine, that you have to display in you car.. to prove that you have paid!
