Does anyone actually know, why someone (particularly Granny's) would want to Suck Eggs?

No - but my Grandma made delicious scrambled egg !

As a child my brother used to collect birds eggs and he would puncture both ends with a needle and blow the contents out.

She wouldn't that's the point of the saying, it's that she already knows how and doesn't need to be told how again.

Haha! My wife is about to pick her granddaughter up from school anytime. When the 6 y.o. comes in I'm gonna tell her to ask my wife "Do you suck eggs, Grandma?"
