Vandalism why ?

Just been sent piccies of Gracie's school, had a call early to say no school today they had a break in, but the damage is really bad, police took 3 hours to attend and don't seem very interested. Said could be jealous kids from another school ! I just don't get why people think destroying other people's stuff is ok.

They have portacabins arriving this afternoon so if they can get set up will be school tomorrow but all their last terms work was destroyed

I do not know what goes on the heads of people who do mindless vandalism.
They want a serious hiding.

Maybe the introduction of community service for under 16s would be an idea?
Let them clean graffiti in the local toilets?
The little darlings may learn a lesson.

I agree. I always think that, if they have to put right what they did wrong, they will learn that it isn't just a bit of fun...... especially if they are watched by somebody who knows how to do the job and who can keep them under control.
Almost a compulsory apprenticeship, but without pay.

I certainly think anyone who had to put right what they destroyed might think twice before doing it again. Also perhaps meet and listen to the people affected might make them think.

Why? Several reasons:

- because they know nothing will happen to them
- because they know the courts will give them a slap on the wrist, even if they get to court
- because they know the police aren't interested because either they haven't the time/staff or because they know the courts won't punish them anyway

- or possibly because they are 'mentally ill' - the current get-out clause!

They are mindless & evil with it. Any vandalism, where ever it is, is stupid. It's a shame the police don't do more to catch those responsible.
