It's Nineteen Years Today, Is She Almost Forgotten?

I wasn't Princess Diana's biggest fan but every year l do remember her on the the anniversary of her death...31st August.
How did someone so celebrated and so revered become just a fleeting memory? There's hardly a mention in the newspapers about the anniversary of her death.
Do you still think of her and remember this day, or never give her a second thought?

Yes remember her everytime I see her boys in the news, they are her biggest achievement and memory I believe.

No I didn't know it was the anniversary of Her death,but yes,I do think of Her occasionally when I see Her Sons who had to grow up without Their Mum,and Her Grandchildren who will never know Her..But She will of course live on in history.

Now you have reminded me, I can remember exactly where I was when I heard the news, but it isn't a date that stays in my mind. I am sure she would be content to know that her sons are thinking of her though.

I remember it because it set off a whole train of events for me..
Got up early that day to drive my son back to University in Nottingham. We were leaving at 6am and put the radio on early and heard the news ...

Drove to Nottingham and dropped my son off then went to visit my Dad in hospital in Derbyshire. He died on 4th September.

So the whole thing of Diana's death is mixed up in my mind with Dad dying.

My mum died exactly two weeks after Diana

I am aware of the date she died but I never give it a thought. A Royalist I am not.
