Olympic Medals.

I was wondering if these really were solid gold, silver & bronze. Apparently not. Guess it's the winning of them that is the main thing.

They were solid metals in the 1912 Olympics, not since then.
So to have a medal, specially gold, then or before that they must be worth a lot.
