Re: Shoestring

Thought this was going to be about shoe laces and how dreadfully short lived they are these days, breaking really easily.

Re: Shoestring

It's a long time since I didn't have a shilling for the gas meter so to speak ,so it would be difficult to have to learn to budget again . I could do it because I'm not one who spends a lot even now but wouldn't like to go back to it . Quite a few people I know , unemployed, are living on a shoestring ,and have to use places that serve cheap meals . They all have those meter cards for their energy supplies which cost the earth . Don't know how some of them manage to survive .

Re: Shoestring

I have lived on a shoestring my entire life I think and still do. I have never been good when it comes to money. If I have it, I spend it. I can only blame myself for that as I have never really pushed myself to make lots of money although I'm sure I am capable of it.

Very similar to me LD, there is an article in the paper today about middle class families saying they cant live on £ 50,000 a year having to borrow from family and buying supermarket clothes.
