Buyer Beware!!

When you are thinking of buying something a little technical or expensive, do you ........

Check out Which Reports?

Investigate on the Internet?

Go for the cheapest (regardless)

Let the Shop Assistant talk you into something?!!

Or do you just go for what catches your fancy and appeals!

Regards,
Rainbow

Re: Buyer Beware!!

Usually take a look at the specs then see what people are saying on the web, and if at all possible - ask people I know (on the web) who I know know a thing or two about the topic what they think of it

I wouldn't buy anything technical without consulting my Son first, he's well up on all the latest gadgets, he loves 'em.

Re: Buyer Beware!!

Anything technical I have to trust that it will do the job and I tend to go for what takes my fancy and appeals, but I always check around for the best price before I buy. I have learnt that the most fancy thing is not necessarily the best, but I do like things to be well designed.

Re: Buyer Beware!!

I browse the internet looking at the specs, when I have made a decision I look at any reviews I can find before going any further. If they are favourable I go ahead with the purchase.

Expensive things?. Moving on to technical I`m so mean I refused a mobile phone-oh it had this that and the other-I think it could go to the moon.

BUT it didn`t have a B button-something one used to press to get one`s money back

I rely on my son for help in that department, if he says something is ok, then I go by his word

Re: Buyer Beware!!

I tend to go to the firms website and look at the Support/Troubleshooter pages, if there are a lot of possible causes for problems I stay away from their product.
