Telephone Marketing Calls????

How do you deal with Telephone Marketing/Sales Calls? I'm surprised by those who become quite hostile, because you say "No Thank You"!!! What a cheek!

I usually say, thanks but no thanks - politely a few times. If that doesn't work I say what part of NO THANK YOU didn't you understand?

Hate them - I have unusual christian and sir-names, which noboby seems to get right, so when they mispronounce my name I usually say "who" - sorry nobody by that name here, must be a wrong number - works every time.

Firstly I ask how they got my number as I'm ex directory and then I put the phone down on them lol

I just say 'No thank you' and hang up.

Door salespeople seem pleased to leave when I answer the door holding onto Dylans collar as he barks his head off.

I just don`t pick up the phone, if I`m around I listen to the message and pick up if it`s someone I want to talk to.

Oh and I have been known to recognise the odd nuisance number,pick up the phone and bark twice followed by "Down boy-Battersea dog`s home how can I help you?"

You could explain Dylan barking with disappointment and frustration, as he was expecting 'Meals On Wheels'!!

Asking them to hold on as you door is getting knocked and then leave them hanging on will stop them! Also, a whistle and blow that down the line!
