Woolly Mammoths

The mad Scientists are at it again.

I read they are 'on their way' to cloning the Woolly Mammoth of thousands of years ago.

Vladimir Putin is backing his country's joint bid with South Korea to reintroduce this animal to Siberia.
Apparently a Korean expert has said "As a result of of tireless joint efforts, we have achieved what we call the 'initial stage' on our way to recovering the mammoth.'

The article said these animals were hunted to extinction about 10,000 years ago. What's the betting if they ever succeed, poachers will start killing them off again for their huge tusks.

Well at least you won't have to distinguish between a real one, or an enhanced one, that is assuming there was ever a real one.

Re: Woolly Mammoths

It does make me wonder what WE would resurrect from the past if we could?

Another thread maybe?

Well presumable they suckled their young on milk, so in theory, yes, as long as you had long ladders.

I have no wish to resurrect the past.
