I like painting solitary figures in the landscape.

Ta Azure, i had a large reproduction of the Lovers of Vence in my sitting room, it was the only painting in my home.Will have to look up that on youtube.
I too like solitude as a subject, especially with a good landscape to set off the figure. Some of John Martins work is awesome, and every time i visit the Laing Art gallery, i spend time enjoying his paintings displayed.

I can't get to the Laing Art Gallery but have ordered the Companion Guide Book
John Master art reminds me of Turner.
I like Russian Artists too,especially Aivazovsky 1870-1900 whose Seascapes equal Turner's.
