Ebay has gone bonkers, I spend half my internet time, deleting items that have been withdrawn for one reason or another, the site has limited time left at this rate.

I think it's gone downhill since the local FB selling pages started, folk don't want to wait for stuff or pay postage or delivery charges.

Years ago, l used EBay quite a lot ! These days, l am quite wary and do most transactions through my daughter's account!!

I still buy from Ebay quite a bit but gave up selling on there a while ago now as had too much hassle from buyers saying they hadnt recieved items and other timewasting tricks they would use...not worth the trouble in the end.

I use ebay a fair bit but it's use has definitely changed; most items I buy are now listed as "Buy it Now" so are not auctioned. I too no longer list items, far too long winded for minimal return on the effort.

There is an Australian site called Gumtree which is very good I bought a set of four rims for my car for $50 using that (for a trailer). I don't know how it makes money as local classified ads are free.

We have 'Gumtree' too ... and 'Streetlife' is good for local info as well as buying, selling, giving stuff away

Ive used Gumtree a fair bit to buy and sell items also...I like it cos you can buy and sell locally without the need for posting items as many people will come and pick up items in person.

Ebay went to great lengths, to take away the accountability and history of sellers, now it has shot them in the foot as, most deals seem to go on outside their jurisdiction, looking for a new car recently, at least 50% of watched items were withdrawn because "No longer Available", I wonder why.

I belong to a number of sites on FB that offer stuff for sale. I managed to sell my bicycle on one, but no luck on other stuff. Going to try again later, if the remainder of my items don't sell at the next car boot.

I also used to sell quite a bit on Ebay but it's not worth it these days with the charges being so high and they don't have free selling weekends anymore. I still buy things occasionally but tend to use Amazon more.
