GP Cleansing list

What do you think about the GP Cleansing List?

If you haven't been to visit your GP within 5 years, they are going to take you off their list.

So does that mean, that you have to be ill to keep on their list.

Re: GP Cleansing list

I listened to the news on this Susie and it will mean any well man,or women clinic,,they wont get a call to have the test done .
Which will defeat the money saving because more patients will get missed on early signs of illness.

Re: GP Cleansing list

Anyone who hasn't been for the previous 5 years will get two letters asking them to contact the practice if they want to stay registered....if no response then they will be dropped, seems like a good idea to me.

Re: GP Cleansing list

That's fine, if they send letters. Patients may have moved away and not bothered, if they're healthy, or haven't had time, to re- register.

And if immigrants have returned to their own country...then they too could come off the list.

Sounds ok to me too.
I understand GPs get paid per patient on their list, some must have patients who have moved.
Their new doctor will have requested their notes but they could still be on the previous list.

It is up to us to take responsibility for ourselves not to expect others to run around after us.
