A trip to the market.

Hi

One of the advantages of living in an agricultural area.

Fresh local produce at good prices.

The lamb is local, the stuffed boned rolled shoulder works out at £3.13p a kilo, the breasts of lamb are £1,50 each.

The plants are from a local nursery and importer, they have a stall on the market, a big one.

£22 for the lot.

I am behind with my garden this year due to being away and then being laid up.

It will soon be looking good though.

Re: A trip to the market.

I buy all my eggs, fruit and veg from farm shops.
Although I live in a town I am on the very edge and only 500 yards from farms and fresh produce.

You can't beat it, unless you grow your own.

I live in the countryside and I buy all my eggs, veg, fruit etc from Aldi.
Cheaper by a country mile, and if you can tell a free range or farm egg from an Aldi egg..........

Hi

Really Malcom?

I buy direct from the suppliers, and they are much cheaper than Aldi.

Aldi and Lidl are 89 p for six free range eggs.

That equates to £ 4.54p a tray of 30.

They have just gone up in price, I now pay £2.80 a tray.

Cheaper by a Country Mile?

I think not.

Aldi free range Chicken Breasts?

£ 3.49 for 350 grams.

In effect, £9.97 a kilo.

On the market, £5 a kilo.
