Men's sussies

....to hold up their socks.

I remember my dad wore them every day with the sussie belt around his calf area. It never fell down, always stayed firmly in place

Do you remember them?

"Threadgold's Thoroughgrip Garterettes"

The scene is an elegant soiree,
somewhere in Belgrave Square.
The Tenor is singing "Speak to me, Thora"
but Thora, alas, is elsewhere.

She's eloped with a dastardly Bounder;
a note left says, "Please forget
for I've fallen in love with the Captain
and his Thoroughgrip Garterette.

I could never quite get my head around the concept.
Socks are elasticated!

Besides a bit of sock scrunch is far more attractive

They were weren't they Wonder if they still sell them. Can you imagine David Beckham wearing them along with his Alice band

Dad used to wear expandable silver things to keep his sleeves up too. I always imagined them catching the hairs on his arms
