Captures the essence of the bird, the pale blue eye and the silver collar.I cant get to see this large so may be im missing some part of the image,, but the clipped tail and the fact i cant see what its perched on just draws my eye.
Not meant as anything other than the fact im am a birder who looks at hundreds of bird images a day, with my jaundiced eye.
I spend time on this site as i can add my photos and rarely my art, which is nowhere near as good as yours.

This was taken from a photo and the bottom was cropped,
I could add a tree stump under the birds feet.
I am a menber of Wet Canvas and it is excellent. I use it mainly for ideas and looking at the lessons, and it is a mine of information
All the books published by Northen Light are much cheaper on Amazon UK

it would be interesting to see one.

I do have a few jackdaw images, i find them interesting birds very smart and intelligent creatures.This one is partially leucistic and the head patten is exaggerated.
Enlarged head-shot showing the feather definition and the eye membrane.
And a standard photo showing the silvery collar.
I love Wet Canvas, its a great place to learn all aspects of art, but its easy to be overwhelmed by the quality on display.
