A funny little true story
A couple of nights ago we were at a restaurant with friends and as usual along came one of the men selling roses. (For some reason, no idea why, I always presume they are Romanian). Anyway this particular man had a really good comical chat up and some very funny banter was going on between him and one of the friends we were with. He kept us amused for about 10 minutes and our friend decided he would buy a rose for each of the ladies. At this point I asked the rose seller where he was from but I certainly didn't expect the answer I received."Originally I'm from Pakistan but for many years I lived in Bradford". I asked him why he moved to Spain, his reply had us all in stitches.
"Too many Pakis and too F.....g cold in Bradford".
We couldn't stop laughing, he really was a funny guy. He went away happy though, our friend thought he entertained us so well he bought the rest of his roses.

That is so funny Clumsy. Its funny we all see these flower sellers in Spain and Canaries and wonder where they are from but never think to ask them.That was good of your friend to buy them all from him, but I am sure he went back and got a few more to sell for the rest of the night.

We have a lot of Moroccans here too Goldie, one of them, Hassan, has been here a long time, longer than us, he likes the "cheap as chips" too. Hassan does the round of the bars and restaurants with his watches, carpets etc, always comes in a beat up old car, but, when you see him out with his wife and kids he's driving a quite new BMW. It must be really easy to sell a watch for 10 euros to a tourist who doesn't know he can buy the same watch for 3 euros on the market. He's a very clever salesman

I havenīt come across that particular one here, but when we lived in Africa the local people really fretted about getting sun tanned, honestly, they all wanted to be lighter, not darker.
