I saw that program and it just made me wonder - who the heck do you trust to be straight forward these days. There is suspicion over everybody it seems. Russia are not helping themselves to take part in the next Olympics are they ?

Who else is being persuaded to be corrupt ? I would have thought that Seb Coe was an honest fella, with high ideals, but is he ? Or is somebody trying to discredit him because he has achieved what maybe somebody else wanted to achieve ? Jealousy can be a dangerous enemy methinks.

I really do hope that Seb Coe can be found to be straight up and not tarnished by other influences. I have always had the greatest respect for that athlete, and his achievements regardless of the fact that he is asthmatic. If he is found to be less than honest, I shall be gutted.

We are wading up to our knees in corruption in all sporting matters, this is just another case and does not warrant the publicity....All sport is corrupt end of story.

I agree Gilly.

He was sent emails...he forwarded them to the appropriate body for investigation. I don't have a problem with that.

These involved serious criminal matters. The right thing to do would be to put that information into the hands of the criminal authorities straight away."

In a statement, Coe - who won 1500m gold at the 1980 and 1984 Olympics - said he was forwarded emails about the corruption allegations, which he then sent on to the IAAF ethics committee, leaving it to investigate.

His director of communications, Jackie Brock-Doyle, added: "He did not feel it was necessary to read the attachments.

"You may think this shows a lack of curiosity. He, and we, would argue that it shows a full duty of care, ensuring the right people in the right place were aware of allegations and were investigating them."

I've never thrown a chess tournament or a Fishing Comp yet !

Although I admit I did win some pretty big bets when my son drew with a visiting Russian Grand Master (chess) when he was 8yo.
Inside knowledge ?
