Easily recognisable

Tess's thread about going on a date made me think.

If you were brave enough to do the same, how would 'sell yourself' in just a few short lines?

And if you did decide to actually meet someone, how would you tell your date how to recognise you in say, a crowded railway station? Would you wear a flower, have a new hair do, wear bright clothes - what?

I'm not planning to do this I hasten to add, it was just idle musings after thinking about our Tess.

I never went on blind dates alone, only with mutual friends, who knew me & my date, so I never had to discribe myself to a date. My last blind date turned out to be my OH & we were together for nearly 50 years.

As for dress I would be in a cap as I have a thing about my hair.

I think I would do as I did to meet my current other half, Internet is a wonderful thing and you can get to know other person before meeting a little.

Absolutely ... internet and webcam are a 'must' as far as I'm concerned.

I go on lots of dates and it's usually the make of car and the smiling driver, that l know it's the one l am meeting. Plus, l have some idea from his profile pic.
No one has ever said what they will be wearing, neither have l.
It's scary but exciting to go on a date when you may have only spoken to them on the phone before!

Funny and completely honest for me - after all, what's the point of making stuff up? Maybe something like "desperate, getting on a bit with all my own bits, legs to die for, face of a creased bulldog." Hell, it could work ...

I'd say I'd be wearing a non-too-hopeful smile and sensible shoes.
