18% off yer house

Leave the EU, and shave 18% off yer house value, well, like all things, this is relative, 18% of 100k is less than 18% of 10000k. so there.

I don't own a house, I live in a grotty "housing association" flat; thank you so much Margaret bloody Thatcher.

Might be a good thing, house prices have become ridiculous. Reset could be good.

Re: 18% off yer house

House prices are meaningless if you own a house whether it is worth $100 or $1000000 it will cost you the same to buy another.

The only people house prices matter to are first time home buyers, those with a mortgage or the beneficiaries in your will. None of which should apply to the over 50s.

I don't care what the house is worth as long as it stays up until we peg out, then it will be down to the kids to cash it in and get what they can.

same here!

its like anything, a property can be priced at whatever high price, whether you get a buyer or not remains to be seen.

This sounds like a desperation ploy.

I'm with you on that Barry!
We went through all the stress of selling and looking for somewhere else for no reason in my opinion but it seemed the right thing to do.

We are settled now and my wife's happy now I have to work on me - I'll get there but, like you say, once we've gone I don't give a toss about the value of our house and it would be best for the UK if prices did drop from the ridiculous asking prices we see these days.

The young stand no chance and it's been denied them by our generation.

Pure greed has driven everything out of the reach of the people that have the most need; it should stop! stevmk2
