A beautiful tree

This tree fascinates me every year. It was not quite fully in blossom when I took these pics, but it is a glorious riot of both pink & white blossom.
I don't know how it came about exactly, but take a look at the trunk and it is like one tree growing inside another, hence the two different blossoms.

Here it is again with the 2 different blossoms opening. Hope you can see it's half pink and half white.

probaly the root stock is wild cherry,with a flowering cherry grafted on,,,

That is the explanation, we used to have some here, but they were cut down a couple of years ago.
