British Eccentrics

Hi

The one thing that I love about the UK is the number of eccentrics we have here.

This one is local to me.

We had another one who used to walk round Shrewsbury every day dressed like a Cavalier, big hat, long cloak, the full works.

I think they are great, just good fun.

Re: British Eccentrics

We used to have a well known eccentric here, he was one of the scientist who worked in a nearby government establishment.
Winter and summer he wore shorts and sandals and carried his shopping in a basket on his head.
He used to enter his house through an upstairs window via a ladder . A brilliant man with some unusual behaviours.

Another one (I don't know who he was) used to direct the traffic wearing a top hat, bow tie and tails

Re: British Eccentrics

Two great stories.

There used to be a man in Islington who would stand outside the pubs with a bucket whilst doing bird impersonations. Not sure if the bucket was for tips or the guano.

If one is rich one is `eccentric` if one is poor one is a looney

Re: British Eccentrics

I am an Aquarius eccentric but I am neither rich nor destitute. So maybe I am just a bit of a looney eccentric.
