I would probably discuss a real worry with a close member of my family and the sex of the person wouldn't matter .

This is a complicated question Mups! I think it would depend on who or what I wanted to discuss. If it is about "lady" things, I don't think a man would be much help, but he could be invaluable on some other subjects. I think both sexes could be helpful in emotional problems, but you need to choose one that knows you well and understands the situation you want to talk about.

I prefer to resolve any worries I have by myself, I have been doing it all my life
I consider every aspect of a 'worry' including all the options available to me and finally reach a resolution.

I think many of us also do that Meg, but some need help or support. I had lunch with a school friend yesterday and she had a big worry,terminal cancer! I told her that she is still the same person she has always been, to me, so I would not treat her with kid gloves. She replied " I know, that is why I want to talk to you more than anybody.... because I am not dead yet!"

They always have understood me better than a Man.

If I was lucky enough to be in bed with a stunning blonde aged around 25 with big boobs, the last thing on my mind would be telling her my troubles

I would think a stunning 25 year old blonde, with big boobs, wouldn't need telling what your troubles were... they would probably be obvious.
