Visit to the forest

Out with the snap-box again and a visit to the wild deer observation station.

Not the best of lighting...overcast and gloomy day (again).

Lovely, majestic animals.. I'm rubbish at taking pictures so never bought a decent camera - would it make a difference?!

Yes to some extent. I am not an expert by any means, however experience has taught me a few pointers.

A good picture is made up of three things, composition, equipment and luck. You can compose with any camera, but a good camera will give you clarity of image, low distortions, colour vibrancy, clarity as well as the ability to mess with as many settings as you can. Some good photo editing software can tweak composition and make some image corrections to help turn a bad shot into a good one.

The luck factor is stuff like weather, getting animal to pose, being at the right place and right time and stuff like that.

To be honest, I'm not really sure. These animals are free to roam, but they are fenced in a very large area to keep them safe from cars etc.
