Lighter Later

'Daylight hours' is one of my hobby horses. There have been lots of threads on this topic previously, so I won't go over old arguments. It appears that the new minister for tourism is actually on board with the idea and that a new campaign - Lighter Later - is under way.
If anyone wishes to add their name to the campaign, here is a link which sets out the benefits as it sees them

Today is the summer solstice - the wonderful light evenings start to recede from now on

Re: Lighter Later

Went onto the site but I had a warning flash up from Zone Alarm that the site was suspicious and advised me to leave it...

Re: Lighter Later

Really?
I've got me alarms and firewalls and stuff and it didn't do anything like that to me
It's a kosher campaign, backed by RoSPA, tourist bodies etc
Try its umbrella organisation www.1010global.org.uk which is an environmental campaign, coming at 'Daylight Robbery' from the aspect of reducing CO2 emissions

Re: Lighter Later

No need for the Scots to sign up for it
You have shorter daylight in winter; longer in summer. C'est la vie.
None of us, no government, no campaign, can make more daylight
We ought to be able to use our resources to make best use of what we do get though.

Re: Lighter Later

I plucked up the courage to overrule my security system and added my support for the scheme.

let's hope it takes off!
