Selling children

This is from "Spanish News Today", I wonder how many children have been sold unnoticed.

"The other unrepentant offenders are a Rumanian gypsy couple living in the municipality of Almuņecar in the province of Granada. Following a report to the authorities by a concerned neighbour it has emerged that the couple sold their 15 year old daughter to another clan in Asturias at the price of 3,500 euros, 100 bottles of whisky, two sheep and a pig, and were expecting a similar dowry for the girlīs 13 year old sister.

The two under-age victims are now in care, and are reported to have been told by their mother that once married they would have to repay their parents in law the dowries decided upon by find a job or begging: if not, the tradition has it, they would bring dishonour to their family."

And we allowed these backward countries to join the EU!
Madness! If we don't leave the EU I'm going to pull up the anchor and let Britain drift into the Atlantic out of harms way.....

Itīs so hard to believe that any parents can actually do this, but of course we know they do. Some young girls simply donīt have any future happiness to look forward to.

I have been a 'don't know' but, increasingly. I'm becoming a 'Brexit'.

The thing is, if we leave the EU we might fail but if we don't, we will fail anyway. My only worry is that we have anyone with the balls to lead us through it.

Yes and I love them all Clumsy, but I think we've got quite enough here now so we need to stop anymore coming to stay until we can sort things out like where will they live go to school and get medical treatment, if you hadn't noticed, we are struggling to look after everyone who is here. Once someone comes to live here and mingles they are British. I don't have a problem with that. We all came from somewhere. Per square mile we have more people than any other country in the EU, I think we have done our bit for now.....

The very moment I learned that Romania would be awarded EU status .... I knew this would happen. I'm not all that happy about Bulgaria either. What I want to know is, what actually are the prerequisites for EU membership these days? I know there are suppose to be some rules regarding economic factors and human dignity ... but what are these rules exactly??? Is it down to simple bribery?

Then again I guess it's irrelevant, what with the "new" migrants swarming us like flies on a freshly laid pile of dung.

Good point AO, I think it's a case of 'You Scratch My Back' Initially I thought the Common Market was a good idea, about half a dozen civilised countries in Europe breaking down the barriers of red tape and all doing business with each other. It could have been great, standing together in times of trouble and visiting each others countries as tourists without the barriers. But alas, my vision of Europe is not that of Mrs Merkel and her cohorts. She wants Britain and Sweden - as well as others - to sell their sole to the devil and roll over and accept the tide of dictatorship, because that's what it is, except it has been cunningly sneaked in through the back door while nobody was looking......
