Water Aware Day

It was supposed to be 'water aware' day today, or something like that. The radio was saying stuff like not keeping the water running when you clean your teeth.

I clean my teeth x2 a day and don't leave the water running.

I run the tap far more than x2 a day for what seems a considerable amount of time to get hot water. I have a condensing boiler.

Apparently new legislation introduced in 2005 (2007 for oil) states that all new boilers have to be Condensing Boilers.

Bit of a vicious circle isn't it?

Re: Water Aware Day

I got my water bill today.
Its £508 for one year.
Not on a meter.
I am very careful with water so probably am paying too much.

Re: Water Aware Day

I have been "on a meter" now since last October and my bills have been reduced by about 50%

Re: Water Aware Day

You are being diddled - my annual water bill (paid quarterly) is usually less than $80 a quarter or $320 a year (£160 per annum) that includes my pensioner rebate.

I am on a meter but there is no incentive to save water because the biggest part of the bill is the standing charge.

Even more annoying is that water users are paying for the upkeep of a useless desalination plant that the Labor government panicked into building during the last drought.

That's without a water meter, btw.

Actually, I use rainwater from a water butt to rinse the beer bottles. Nothing cleaner than 'God's own tears'.
