Nomads

Nom, what do you mean you "will soon be a nomad?"
Are you planning to go off to explore the depths of Outer Somewhere or Other?
Or are you doing a moonlight from your cave?
Or are you taking me for a nice surprise trip somewhere?

Re: Nomads

There was alot of talk on 'Countryfile' tonight about Woodpeckers, and I thought I saw him in the background, I recognised the red bobble hat, so maybe you're right Myrtle.

Re: Nomads

Toward the mid/end of April I am driving up to Darwin via Queensland then returning through the red centre via Alice Springs and SA. You could get the general idea on >>>Google Maps Here<<< and >>>returning this way<<<

This is my rough calculation of places and distances but I will be taking my time and taking lots of side trips and detours.

Dubbo 459
Bourke 369
Charleville 453
Barcaldine 409
Winton 286
Mt Isa 467
Camooweal 190
Three Ways 446
Renner Springs Inn 137
Daly Waters 244
Katherine 273
Pine Creek 90
Jabiru 213
Darwin 254

Total 4290Km

Darwin
Katherine 316
Newcastle Waters 399
Davenport 467
Alice Springs 322
Kulgera 284
Kings Canyon 366
Marla 528
Coober Pedy 234
Woomera 375
Peterborough 310
Mildura 420
Balranald 162
Hay 132
Narrandera 173
Canberra 339
Home 250

Total 5077km

Gross 9367km

I'll use at least 800 litres of diesel and will camp in some places and use motels in others; I reckon it will take about 6 weeks

There is a great temptation after Darwin to carry on to Broome and Perth then come back across the Nullarbor Plain but that might have to wait until next year.

Should be fun but and it is a bit nomadic isn't it?
