Thinking about school days

Did anyone else have school on Saturdays?. We had to go in for a full morning on a Saturday

It's no wonder you are so enlightened!, the extra half-days education paid dividends in the long run, wish I'd had it, lucky you!.

Yes-well it thought it was one. I think the term was `Direct Grant`

My brother did go to Bedford School but I only made it to the Modern.

I still think the 11+ was not so bad. It gave village kids a chance to break out and get an education

No way! It took me all my time to go to the Senior Secondary after I passed my quali!!

Not lessons exactly but every Saturday I used to play hockey, tennis or cricket for my Grammar school.

No Saturday school for me-used to play netball for the school every Saturday though.....
