Derogatory

Why, on the political threads are folks so derogatory, about folks they do not know personally?

Re: Derogatory

I can assure you it doesn't only happen on the political threads.

Perhaps because demeaning someone else gives them an overblown sense of their own `superiority`?

Are you meaning the posters or the politicians that the posters are talking about ?

If it's the politicians etc. then I'm afraid that's fair game. If it is another poster that they are being derogatory about, then that is definitely not on.

Re: Derogatory

Rightly or wrongly, sometimes a "derogatory' post" occurs only after a long, long period of provocation -
personal slurs, utter lies, deliberate misquotes or even racism.

If folk are not fully aware of that background and a reaction appears in particular threads,
it may seem that the victim is actually the aggressor.

It is very easy to say "sticks and stones" or "water off a duck's back"
but if real harm has been done and real pain inflicted, it is not always easy to "keep one's powder dry".

Enough cliches for one post ?

Re: Derogatory

Apart from being just plain silly, that sounds just a bit derogatory.

Re: Derogatory

Have you not noticed Spitty, it is one person who makes a comment then runs, after causing others to argue among themselves, just put who you don't like to read on the Ignore button, it works for me.

Yes I've noticed - they can spout amongst themselves - said all I have to say on the subject, UJ had more sense. They are what they are

Re: Derogatory

It's beginning to look like they have no real answer so attack the poster, if they had real proof what was being said was wrong they could debate the points raised.
